講義概要/Course description
現代社会の多様なトピックを扱ったテキストを使用し、内容把握の戦略を伝授しながら、語彙力と読解力の向上を図る。また、トピックの背景にも目を向け、社会事象に対するクリティカルな思考力を養うことも目指したい。
達成目標/Course objectives
グローバル化する社会において役立つ実用的な英語力の基礎を養うことを目指すということを念頭において、語彙力を高め、平易な現代英語で書かれた文章を正確に、かつ早く読むことを目標とする。
