講義概要/Course description
　2014-2015年発行の英字新聞　（The New York Times, International Herald Tribune, The Washington Post, The Associate Press, The Japan Times, Reuters, Kyodo News, AFP-JIJI)　からとった、社会、政治経済、文化、言語、教育など、多岐にわたる記事を読み、世界の様々な国や分野への関心を高めながら、英文の読解力養成を目指します。

　それぞれのユニットに出てくる重要単語、フレーズを使い、トピックについて英語で説明できるようになる。

授業方法/Method of instruction
　テキストは、毎週１課学習する予定です。４人ずつのグループに分かれ、各グループ内で１人が本文の1/4の訳、解説などをします。　グループワークが終わると、担当グループがユニットの全文を皆の前で訳し、それぞれのトピックに関連したプレゼンテーションを行います。　グループのメンバーは各学期に２回変わります。
　語彙を増やすため、授業の冒頭に単語テストを実施します。　'Words and Phrases'の中から、２問ずつ出題します。
成績評価方法/Evaluation
1 100% 中間テスト　３０%、　期末テスト　３０%、　授業参加　(グループワークなど）２０%、　単語テスト　１０%、　グループ発表　１０%、
これらの点数を総合評価して決定します。
