講義概要/Course description
This class will focus on oral productive skills. Students will become familiar with elementary/upper elementary terminology and vocabulary. Classes will include exercises designed to be done individually, in pairs, and in groups. Students will be expected to complete homework assignments and tests. Oral and written exams will be administered at the end of each semester. Attendance is an important aspect of this class and students are expected to have a high rate of attendance in order to be eligible for a pass mark.
 
Students will be able to create role-play dialogues in almost every class. These tasks are designed to maximize student learning and provide realistic situations for the students to practice skills learned in class. These dialogues will also form the main material of the speaking tests at the end of each semester.

Students will develop speaking and presentation skills,increase vocabulary, improve confidence with language activities based on general and topical issues.

Students will be expected to prepare for class where necessary. A good dictionary is strongly advised and a notepad is obligatory. Students may also wish to keep a vocabulary booklet for new terminology and expressions.

In accordance with guidelines established by the Ministry of Education, students do not receive credit simply for attending classes.  However, students' grades may be reduced for failing to attend classes.  Students may not have more than three excused or unexcused absences in one semester in order to pass the class.  Being late twice counts as one absence.
