講義概要/Course description
This course is intended to help Economics students develop their English skills by offering them opportunities to describe and compare the national economies of various countries. Each week students will research the economy of a country, and report their findings to the class.  
Listening skills: Listening to spoken (or taped) academic lectures; note-taking.
Speaking skills: Summarizing, discussing, debating, and otherwise responding to material presented in class; summarizing and presenting material read outside of class.
Reading skills: Reading English source materials.
Writing skills: Writing in Learning Diaries.
Auxiliary skills: Ability to respond to and critically evaluate materials presented in class.
達成目標/Course objectives
The purpose of this course is to give students an opportunity to take a content-based course in English which is related to their major field of study (Economics).

授業方法/Method of instruction
対面授業を実施します
Our first lesson will be a 'talking head' which you can watch on your computer at home. 'Talking head' means you will watch a video of your teacher introducing the course. After the first lesson, it is intended that all remaining lessons will take place in the classroom at Aoyama Campus.
The course will introduce students to authentic English materials that describe the national economies of various countries. As the course progresses, students' abilities to describe features of national economies will improve. Students will discuss the materials in class, with an emphasis on critical evaluation.
成績評価方法/Evaluation
1 平常点 In-class Points 100% Evaluation
Students will be evaluated continuously based on:
1. communicative competence, and
2. demonstration of comprehension, and 
3. Learning Diaries.


Students will lose points for being absent, late, or not participating in the lesson. The teacher is strict with regard to this.
