講義概要/Course description
This course explores the roles and limitations of the United Nations, particularly its part in fostering international peace and security. We will examine how multilateral efforts can handle multiple and complex security challenges in an evolving world.

Upon completion of this course, student should have a better understanding of the theories and practices guiding the UN, including how it works to advance peace and security.

授業計画/Class Practice for Presentation : Climate Change 

Even though the class provides a variety of topics for the presentation topics, the two research questions will be commonly examined in each case. To fully understand  the meanings of the question, students will practice for their presentations by considering the questions for the case of climate change.

授業方法/Method of instruction
(1) In weeks 2-4, lectures will be delivered on UN fundamentals. 
(2) In week 5-13, students are expected to make a 30 minute group presentation on designated UN topics, followed by the Q and A sessions.
(3) In week 14, we will have review of the course as well as the discussion.
(4) In week 15, students will sit for a final examination.
