講義概要/Course description
Human Rights is defined as the rights which are believed to belong to every person. Throughout history from the Code of Hammurabi to various religious teachings and legal codes, societies have tried to create a fairer system of government. In this class, students will first take a historical journey from 2200 BC to modern-day and study how people have tried to improve their lives. After studying the history of Human Rights, the class will focus on the modern history of Human Rights, including the United Nations, the United Declaration of Human Rights and Human Rights groups and their activities. In Class, students will study, discuss, write and analyze, and present about all topics. You will leave the class with a greater knowledge of how people have tried to better their lives and how you can do your part to help protect human rights.
