講義概要/Course description

「積極的に発言する意欲」、「口語英語の知識」、「意見交換」、「考えをまとめ、効果的に伝達する力」を育てていくことを中心として展開する授業である。

コミュニケーション能力養成を中心とした実践的な英語力を向上させるために、Aでは、ディベート、ディスカッションを通して、様々な口頭表現を学び、他者の意見の的確な理解に基づき、明解に自分の意見を主張できるようになることを身につける参加型の授業である。加えて、発表内容を充実したものとするために、英語資料を活用できる能力を高める内容も授業に含まれる。

This class will focus on various aspects of communication, including the exchange of opinions, means of effective self-expression and tools of oral English.

In Active Speaking Skills A, students will learn how to express their thoughts and ideas through debate and discussion. In addition, in order to acquire meaningful communication skills, the course will encompass methods of using sources in English.

達成目標/Course objectives

口頭発表と、英語情報理解の学びを通して、国際社会で通用する英語能力を築くことが目標である。英語で述べられた情報や他者の考えを正確に理解して、主に口頭表現を通して自己表現できる技術を高める事が目的となる。そのため、授業中は積極的な姿勢で英語を用い、発話内容と脈略を理解した上で、自らコミュニケーションを図る態度と能力を養っていくことになる。

The aim of this course is to develop communication skills through oral expression and learning how to use English sources so that each student will be an effective participant in our global society. Students will develop comprehension skills through the understanding of the ideas and thoughts of others. It is important that students be active participants in this class.

・内容についての質問等を学生に当てることによって毎回出席を取ります。
・遅刻：15分未満の遅刻を2度する、あるいは15分以上の遅刻を1回したら1回分の欠席とみなします。
・欠席：1回 = 罰なし、2回 =－5%、3回 =－10%、4回 = 不合格、つまり4回以上欠席したら単位を得ることができません。
・辞書（英英・英和・和英、できれば電子辞書、スマホ可）を持ってきて下さい。
・講義中に電子辞書、PC、タブレットやスマホでアクセスできるオンライン辞書を活用することを奨励します。
・英語によるディスカッションにも積極的に取り組んで下さい。
・他人が書いた文や翻訳アプリが生成した文等をあたかも自分の文であるかのようにコピー＆ペーストしたり、他の人に頼んで課題等をやってもらう等の不正行為は厳しく処分されるため、履修者には初めに誓約書を提出して頂きます。
・テキストは1人1冊必携(must)です。第2回の授業までに入手しておいて下さい。持っていないことは減点や単位取得不可を招くこともあります。
