講義概要/Course description
指定された数冊の教科書の中から担当者が選択したテキストを基に授業を進めるため、初回授業に各担当者から授業の説明がある。授業時には受講者がレベルにあった様々な学習者主導型のタスクに積極的に参加することによって成り立つ授業となる。本授業では言語インプット活動としてのリーディングとリスニングを中心とした授業を行う。マルチメディアを活用し、主に英語のリーディング力並びにリスニング力の向上を目指すとともに、地球上の問題や文化の多様性を正確に理解するための知識を深めることも狙いとする授業となる。また、学期末に実施する試験のほかにも定期的に到達度を評価する。
The instructor chooses one of the selected textbooks. In the first session, the instructor explains the content and guidelines of the course. During the lesson, students are encouraged to actively participate in various tasks of the learner-centered curriculum, which corresponds to the level of the given course.
This course focuses on reading and listening as input-based activities. The important aims are to improve students’ reading and listening skills through the use of multimedia and to deepen their understanding of global issues and cultural diversity. In order to evaluate the level of students’ achievement, quizzes are preferably given on a regular basis in addition to a final test at the end of a semester.
達成目標/Course objectives
主に英語のリーディング力並びにリスニング力向上を目指す。English Core I-dを受講終了後、リーディング力に関しては日常的又は学術的な話題についてよく使用される表現で書かれた比較的短く簡潔なテキストを読み、内容を理解することができることを目指す。また、リスニング力については、はっきりとゆっくりとした発話・発音であれば、日常的又は学術的な話題について具体的な必要性を満たすことができる程度に理解できることを目指す。
The aims of this course are to have students develop their reading and listening skills. Upon successful completion of this course, with regard to reading skills, students can understand straightforward texts containing high frequency vocabulary on common everyday or academic topics with a satisfactory level of comprehension. As for listening skills, students can understand straightforward factual information about common everyday or academic topics, provided the speech is clearly and slowly articulated.
