Course description

The instructor chooses one of the selected textbooks. In the first session, the instructor explains the content and guidelines of the course.

During the lesson, students are encouraged to actively participate in various tasks of the learner-centered curriculum, which corresponds to the level of the given course.

This course focuses on reading and listening as input-based activities. Furthermore, this course aims to improve students’ reading and listening through the use of multimedia and to deepen their understanding of global issues and cultural diversity.

In addition to the final exam, quizzes are preferably given on a regular basis to evaluate learners’ students’ achievement levels.
Course objectives

Based on the skills acquired in English Core I-d, this course aims to further develop students’ reading and listening skills.

Upon successful completion of this course, with respect to reading skills, students can understand complex texts with knowledge of a broad active vocabulary on academic topics or their own area of speciality, provided they can reread difficult sections using appropriate reference sources selectively.

Regarding listening skills, students can understand spoken English on academic topics or their own area of speciality, provided speech is clearly articulated in a generally familiar accent.
