講義概要/Course description
|
Tourism is regarded as the pillar of Japan's economic growth strategy, and one of the main components of the regional revitalization. The students of this class will learn to understand the present conditions of our country’s international and domestic tourism, and how they are contributing to the society and the economy.
In the class, some of the popular tourist destinations and tourism facilities will be introduced, as well as the major stakeholders in the tourism industry, including hotels, ryokan,transportations and tourism organizations. Discussion will also extend to tourism management and policy making of present-day Japan.

|
Students will be able to discuss the importance of tourism in the economic and social context in Japan. Students will be able to understand of our tourism resources and tourism policy in Japan.

For the orientation, read "White Paper on Tourism in Japan, 2021 (Summary)" and think about the current and future tourism of the world.
Read the title of Class before every other classes. |

補足事項/Supplementary notesDuring the term, students will complete assignments on related topics of the Tourism. These assignments will demonstrate student comprehension of requiredreading materials. Students will also participate in group discussions on topics to evaluate their ability to present and understand each topic. Short comments will be made as the feedback after discussionsor presentations. Students must attend 10 or more classes.
※The classes will mostly be conducted face-to-face,but some will be conducted for on-demand. In that case, the material will be updated by 06:00 a.m. on Thursday.

During the term, students will complete assignments on related topics of the Tourism Management. These assignments will demonstrate student comprehension of required reading materials.
