English in the Media (Advertising)
This course explores various advertising media. Students will examine and analyze print, billboard, radio, TV, and Internet advertisements for a variety of products and services. Students will learn persuasive techniques and language using in advertising. At the end of the semester, students will create their advertisement for the assigned product.

This course strongly encourages and welcomes open communication. Rather than a lecturer, the instructor will act as a facilitator in the class. Questions and discussion in the classroom will also be a central part of teaching. Many topics in the class will be explored through in-class discussions and activities related to assigned readings.

1.Be attentive to the other speakers and ask questions of the presenting student. 2.I take class attendance seriously. • A student who attends less than 3/4 of scheduled classes will receive a failing grade. • Absence will be excused for special circumstances such as illness, family emergency upon written request.
