達成目標/Course objectives
Today’s world, much to our regret, continues to witness various forms of human rights violations in too many regions and societies, including our own. This course will explore some of these (see proposed lecture plan below). We aim not only to look into specific realities and contexts of these cases of human suffering, but also to train ourselves to always pay attention to, and critically examine, English language sources on human rights issues. In order to achieve these goals, we will utilize journalistic and scholarly reports, both written and visual, as well as incorporate in-class discussions and presentations.
