講義概要/Course description

The objective of this course intends to provide you with basic knowledge on business negotiations and to develop your understanding of the principles, strategies, and tactics of effective negotiation in business contexts. By using case study approaches, the course methodology is highly participatory and utilizes class discussion, assigned readings, and simulations in one-on-one and group situations. Group work will be carried out in each class. Participants will be divided into groups consisting of about 3-4 students, and each group will study a plan to export a Japanese traditional product to a foreign country and prepare the plan (proposal). The content of the group proposal will be presented in a presentation session during the course.

This class aims to attain to help you understand the basic logics about effective negotiation and the significance behind negotiations, documents, or procedures for business practices. In addition, this course intends to provide you with an opportunity to learn about actual business scenes from a point of business negotiations.
