講義概要/Course description

Culture informs human interactions in every situation, and business communication is no exception. In this course, students will deepen their understanding especially of intercultural issues in international business communication. They will learn about common difficulties involved in intercultural business scenarios and practice strategies to navigate these areas.
Students will work in pairs and groups to rehearse and interact in business situations, and perform role-plays to practice the strategies they learn. There will also be practice of written communication,

|
Students will become familiar with the most common cultural issues in international business communication. Students will acquire strategies for dealing with intercultural difficulties in business scenarios. Students will increase their knowledge of, and proficiency in using, appropriate English expressions for international business situations.

履修条件(事前に履修しておくことが望ましい科目など)/Prerequisite

There are no prerequisite classes, but the English level of the class will be moderately high (the text is written for CEFR ~B1/B2), so students should have a reasonably confident command of spoken and written English at the intermediate level in order to participate effectively in this course. A lot of spoken English will be required.
